What materials do you use for your chokers?

All Lovely Velvet chokers are handmade using high-quality Nyvalour Swiss velvet ribbon — known for its luxurious texture and vibrant color. We finish every piece with durable, high-quality metal findings. Our hardware options include 304/316 surgical-grade stainless steel and 925 sterling silver, both ideal for everyday wear and sensitive skin.

Are your chokers hypoallergenic?

Yes! Lovely Velvet chokers are made with high-quality 304/316 stainless steel and 925 sterling silver — both excellent choices for sensitive skin. These metals are naturally hypoallergenic and nickel-safe, making them ideal for most people with metal sensitivities.

If you have a metal allergy, our chokers are a beautiful and comfortable option you can feel good about wearing.

Are your chokers adjustable?

Yes! Each choker comes with an adjustable chain extender so you can find your perfect fit. If you need a custom length, feel free to reach out before placing your order.

How do I know which size to order?

To find your ideal size, wrap a soft measuring tape (or string) snugly around your neck where you’d like the choker to sit. Take that measurement and round down to the nearest inch — this gives room for the clasp and end findings we add to every piece.

For example, if your neck measures close to 13", we recommend choosing a 12" choker. Most people find that 12" fits comfortably with the added extender chain for adjustability.

Where do you ship from?

All orders are handmade and shipped from New York City.

How long will it take to get my order?

Most orders ship within 2–4 business days. Delivery time depends on your location and chosen shipping method. You’ll receive a tracking number once your order ships.

Do you offer international shipping?

Yes! We ship worldwide. Please note that international customers are responsible for any customs or import fees.

Can I change or cancel my order?

If you need to make changes, please contact us within 12 hours of placing your order. Once production begins, we may not be able to make modifications.

What’s your return policy?

Due to the handmade nature of our chokers, we do not accept returns. However, if there is an issue with your order, please reach out — we're happy to make it right.

My item arrived damaged — what should I do?

Oh no! Please email us at hello@lovelyvelvet.com within 5 days of delivery with a photo of the damage, and we’ll send a replacement or offer a solution.

How do I care for my velvet choker?

Store your choker flat or hanging to prevent wrinkles. Avoid contact with water, perfumes, and lotions to keep the velvet and hardware looking their best.

Can I wash my choker?

We don’t recommend machine washing. If needed, gently spot-clean the ribbon with a damp cloth and let it air dry. Do not soak.
